Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

ENA's Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) team acts in a co-ordinating and facilitating capacity to assist Member Companies in achieving their business objectives safely and without risk to health and/or the environment.

In essence, SHE provides a focus for liaison, co-ordination and information, in areas which Member Companies identify as being of mutual concern. The activities are brought about and directed through a framework established by the ENA Board comprising a number of committees and task forces managed by the SHE team, in addition to a range of professional services, publications and initiatives provided by SHE.

SHE employs a variety of methods to monitor, collate and disseminate to Member Companies in a timely and targeted way, this includes: management of an accident database and production of quarterly updates; overseeing SAFELEC 2010 initiative and production of an annual progress report; publication of leaflets on public safety guidance. The SHE team liaises with the industry regulators, HSE, BERR and the Environment Agency to develop a partnership approach to managing SHE issues.
