Engineering
ENA engineering (electricity) provides technical support to the network operators of the UK through a collective work programme, developed and co-ordinated by the Engineering Committee.
This is the senior ENA engineering forum where all electricity member companies are represented. The collective work programme is managed by the engineering team.
The ENA Technical Specifications and Engineering Recommendations are available to purchase through the ENA website and the asset defect reporting scheme (NEDeRS®) is made available by annual subscription to participating companies. There are currently over sixty subscribers to the NEDeRS® system.
ENA's engineering team liaise with government departments and regulators of the sector as well as manufacturing associations, electrical institutions such as IET, commercial service providers, contractors and academia. There are also links with European and international organisations such as CIRED, CIGRE and Eurelectric. ENA Engineering is recognised as the industry’s ‘in common’ technical authority.
