Key Stages One and Two (Infants)

 
Key Stage One covers the ages five to seven (Years One and Two of primary school) and Key Stage Two covers ages seven to eleven (Years Three to Six).

At Key Stages One and Two, the National Science Curriculum includes:

  • Module Sc1 Scientific enquiry - ideas and evidence in science and investigative skills
  • Module Sc4 Physical processes - Electricity, forces and motion and light and sound

Key Stage Three

 
Key Stage Three covers the first part of secondary school - Years Seven to Nine.

At Key Stage Three, the National Science Curriculum includes:

  • Module Sc1 Scientific enquiry- ideas and evidence in science and investigative skills
  • Module Sc3 Materials and their properties - classifying materials, changing materials, and patterns of behaviour
  • Module Sc4 Physical processes - Electricity and magnetism, forces and motion, light and sound, the Earth and beyond and energy resources and energy transfer
