Public Safety: Agriculture
Since overhead power lines run mainly over fields, farm workers are particularly susceptible to the dangers of machinery coming into contact with them and causing serious injuries.
Lines can be missed even in daylight; at dusk or dawn it can be even harder to spot them.
People can misjudge heights and distances, especially when tired or in bad light. Jets of water or pesticides can, if they come into contact with overhead power lines, cause death or injury.
To obtain information on overhead line routes, contact your local electricity company.
Our leaflets are provided free of charge. However, we would appreciate you letting us know where they are being used. Please send any feedback to richard.legros@energynetworks.org
