Introduction: Who we are and what we do

ENA - the Energy Networks Association - is the industry body for UK energy transmission and distribution licence holders. It acts in the interest of the energy 'wires and pipes' sectors to achieve excellence in both its internal services and relationships with stakeholders.

ENA aims to successfully influence decision-makers on common issues, including:

ENA's overriding goals are to promote the UK energy networks and enable our networks to be the safest, most reliable, most efficient and sustainable in the world.

ENA was formed on 1st October 2003 to provide a strategic focus for the energy transmission and distribution industry.

ENA is a not-for-profit company with tax-mutual status.

As the voice of the energy networks sector ENA acts as a strategic focus and channel of communication for the industry. We aim to promote the interests, growth, good standing and competitiveness of the industry, and provide a forum of discussion among company members, and so facilitate communication and shared experience across the energy networks sector.

We also seek to influence and campaign on matters that affect our members and assist the Government, the Regulator and other key decision-makers to draft more effective legislation and regulations.
